"I am not the same having seen the moon shine from the other side of the world."
- Mary Anne Radmacher
Hello! I’m Ana.
I was born in Portugal and moved to the US when I was eleven. Almost every summer, we'd go back, and for a long time, those trips just felt like going home. Then, at sixteen or seventeen, something shifted. I picked up a travel guide from a local bookstore, handed it to my parents, and suddenly we were driving everywhere. I needed to see all the castles, explore all the ruins. There wasn’t a beach along the Algarve coast we didn’t swim in. I wasn't just going home anymore. I was exploring and I'd never felt so alive.
Photography had always been part of how I see the world: landscapes, people, places that deserved to be remembered and hung on the wall. In 2015 I fell into the world of concert photography, and that changed something. Nothing is posed, nothing waits for you, and you learn fast to find the shot in the chaos. That instinct—staying present, noticing the detail that makes a moment—is the one I bring to every trip I plan.
Wanderlustre Travels came to life in 2022, built around a simple belief: travel should do something to you. The name is a mashup of wanderlust and lustre, a nod to meaningful travel and the art of capturing it. But what it really stands for is the conviction that a great trip doesn't just take you somewhere. It leaves you different than you were before.
In August 2025, after many years in the US, I moved back to Lisbon. It felt like the right next chapter: staying close to the destinations I love most, and planning trips from a place I genuinely call home.
That's what I'm here to create for you. Not just a well-organized trip, but one that actually stays with you.
My Travel Style
I'm drawn to travel that balances adventure with depth. One day might be spent chasing sweeping mountain views or hiking along the coast, and the next wandering through a centuries-old neighborhood, taking it all in one quiet street at a time. I like travel that leaves room for both awe and stillness.
Boutique hotels with character are always my first choice. The kind with a story behind them, and a welcoming bar or cozy lounge to wind down in at the end of the day. After a day of exploring, there's something special about sitting down for a memorable meal or a well-made cocktail and reflecting on it all.
It's those small, specific moments that stay with you long after you're home. That's the kind of travel I seek out for myself, and the kind I love building for the people I work with.
Favorite Destinations
Some places just stay with you. Those are the ones I love to plan most.
Iceland was one of the first destinations that truly took my breath away, and I've been back more than once. The wide-open landscapes, the otherworldly light, the kind of quiet that makes you stop mid-sentence. It's perfect for travelers who love a bit of adventure and don't mind pulling over for waterfalls every ten minutes.
Portugal is home, and now again where I live. Lisbon has an energy that's hard to put into words, Porto will charm you in ways you didn't see coming, the Algarve is as stunning as the photos suggest, and the Azores is unlike anywhere else on earth. There's so much more here than most people expect, and I never get tired of helping people discover it.
Italy has become one of my favorite countries to plan, especially for honeymoons. The food alone is worth the flight, and the pace of life slows you down in the best possible way. It's hard to design a bad trip here. I just try to make sure it's a great one.
Europe is where my heart lives, and whether a client is dreaming of the Amalfi Coast, the Swiss Alps, or somewhere they can't quite pronounce yet, I'm probably already excited about it.
